So, here I am sitting on my couch week after week thinking that the X factor is about raw singing talent. Yet it appears that I am mistaken. It seems that the contestants must play a game. It’s called “give too much too soon and then lose it all”. (Not the most catchy title I admit but you’ll get my drift soon!)

You see, I’ve been very controlled in not criticizing the public and the judges for ousting some of our best performers of the competition. However, since the dreadful call made by Simon last week (he caused Deadlock which ultimately led to Rachel leaving the competition), I cannot stay silent any longer. It started with the eviction of the amazing Miss Frank two weeks ago. They were young, trendy and fun with three of the most amazing voices ever. Why the public didn’t see this and love them is beyond me. The fact that they were in the bottom two was a mistake in itself. Unfortunately they were against Danyl who is also a strong contender and it was a tough call – someone had to go.

Then there was the mistaken Rachel. I truly don’t understand what the public had against her. There simply was no comparing her performances to Lloyd’s. She had a powerful and emotional voice, had great rhythm and was sassy. But apparently that wasn’t good enough which led to her saying her goodbyes. So instead we’re left with Lloyd. Cute – yes. Voice – no. It’s not that he’s bad, he just aint that good. Perhaps since he never started off great, the judges and public are hoping that he will suddenly improve…drastically!

Let’s contrast him with Danyl. He started off amazing and continues to shine. Cheryl’s comment about being bored with the big notes was utterly unfair. He’s being picked on for having confidence. Why they think that it’s a bad thing is beyond me. The judges are being way too harsh on Danyl, probably because he’s older and they think he can take the stick. However I think Cheryl in particular has double standards. She picked an easy song for Joe which he sang well, granted, but it was predictable and boring. There was no challenge it in for him. Why was Joe not criticised for always singing a song with high notes at the end? Is it because he’s younger and has a more vulnerable personality?

Maybe Danyl made a mistake in bootcamp. He totally excelled himself there, showing the judges what he was made of. They subsequently showered him with praise and adored him. Now his initial success is the reason for his current demise. His powerful voice and confident attitude is now resented by the other judges who see a likeable, good looking guy who has an incredible voice. Danyl is a threat to Cheryl’s Joe and Danni’s Lucie and the only way they can ensure he doesn’t win is to bash his confidence.

If we’re talking about a singing competition with raw talent then don’t let those who show their abilities early, and constantly pull out the stops week after week, be put down for their talent and hard work.

Hellllo my dear 888ladies!

It’s after 07:00 am here at the ship and Armo has already had her 1st surprise.

She was waiting for her room service (yes… our ladies have style) and when she heard a knock on the door she immediately went to open it thinking that this is her breakfast cereal but NO NO NO, it was a handsome waiter who brought her this cake!

This cake came with a card from us and all of YOU and said: “Happy Birthday from your nutty 888ladies family!”.

At around 07:10 am Tommy and I decided to go to Armo and Nannaofcjnr’s room to celebrate with them. We came to the door and saw this:

It turns out the Nanna, the beloved sister, had decorated the entire room and also the outside of their door. Bless her!

We knocked hard on the door and there was the birthday girl – Armo, all dressed up and ready to go to the beach (this time with her swim suit on LOL) and in the room were also Nannaofcjnr, LadyP and Nannamarg – all in their pjs And that was quite a celebration!

Keep sending your greetings to Armo’s card, as we are going to present it to her at dinner tonight and it’s going to be very funny and nutty LOL

Good morning 888ladies!

Our girl, Armo, is celebrating her birthday today on the cruise.

It’s still very early in the morning here but let me tell you what we are planning for her:

At exactly 07:00 she will hear a knock on her door. As she will open it she will find a special waiter bringing her a heart shaped chocolate birthday cake which will say: Happy Birthday Armo”.

We will of course continue the celebrations in the beautiful Cabo San Lucas and in the evening, we will have a formal dress evening, during which we will present her with our special greeting card, and this is where we need YOU.
