Did you ever know that you’re My Hero?

Dear 888ladies & 888gents

Today, is the ‘My Hero’ party in the chats. We are going to celebrate everyone who has touched your lives in so many ways over the years. Maybe it was a rock star or a big actor when you were smaller, maybe it was your teacher who encouraged you or a favourite uncle who was a fireman. As you got older, it maybe a parent who was always there, loving and supportive or a good friend who fought and won against illness at great odds. Perhaps it is a humanitarian whose selfless acts have inspired you to do charitable work yourself or maybe your partner who has always been there and loves you more than life itself.

Personally, I have a few: Mrs Agent (she IS the best!), Jim Morrison, Winston Churchill, Robert De Niro and Mark Hughes (when at Manchester United)… :) It’s a strange bunch but has made me the LPs distributing, Bonus Code Mission-giving, killing machine that you know and love.

But who is yours? 3,000LPs for the best story! I can’t wait to hear them all, I have seen some already, very touching; they melted my steely Agent heart…

Signing Off……..

I voted ‘other’ and that would be billy connolly as he always cheers me up no matter my situation or mood and then i read about his life and i found out what a remarkable life he has lead and i thought to myself ‘if such can come through all that still smiling and making other people smile and laugh then why cant i?’ For those who voted for their child or loved ones/parents/family and friends i salute ye, its those close to yer heart that make ye who ye are now :)

My best friend helped me to face up to life when my husband died and supports me when I need to get something off my chest.She also was cheerfull when I shared with her family taking her to chemo when she developed cancer and she always has an ear for other peoples sadness and is very compassionate.

i voted for nelson mandela, whose bravery in the face of the cruel apartheid regime was unsurpassable and inspirational especially during his 27 long years of incarceration. what an amazing humanitarian he is. he is my hero, and also of many other people not only in his homeland but all over the world. he gave so many so much, and gave up so much of his life in the fight for freedom!

I have voted other even though my dad is my hero personally. But other represents all the heros mentioned above as we all have one in our lifes who stands out above all. Our heros are personal to each and every one of us in all differnet ways, so in truth there is no winner or loser in this poll. Regardless of the results xxxxx poorme

it would have to be my daughter because she gave birth to my beautiful grandaughter 2yrs ago and in those 2 yrs she’s been on life support 8 times because she got a really rare muscle illness that only 5 suffer with in uk and for all the heart breaking times we have had i couldnt of asked her to be a better mum she is a dimond on the snow for her kids and i am sooooo proud xxxx

46 blossomhillm8 { 10.10.09 at 17:42 }

after reading all of the above nominations for me its got to be everyone who has written on this MY HERO blog !! some of the stories are truly heartbreaking but the strength and courage really comes through especially with LYNN263,s!! storyxx
other than that it wil be my mum as she selflessly cared for my dad when he had lung cancer , since he died she herself has had nothing but horrendous ill heath , heart problems, fibro-myalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes to name but a few xxx love you mum xx
